Last night I ate a food that gave me a histamine reaction. This is not uncommon for a person who has dealt with digestive issues her whole life. The cool things is this : I have been using the Winter Detox – Restore & Reset to help me identify and do a mini elimination diet to see if corn was truly killing me and guess what – it was. I was even eating local, unprocessed corn but this food was not working for my body anymore.
Remember, the body does change daily and especially seasonally. I have found cleansing has helped me in so many ways. I suggest doing a cleanse or detox at least 4 times a year. The cleanse and detox that really changed my health was based on the elimination diet and that is why I created this one.
Today I made this smoothie to help combat the histamine reactions.
Do you ever react to a food or many different foods but you cannot figure it out? I have been there too. Let me help you change this scenario with one simple plan and start out 2015 a different way.
Just in case you want my rescue recipe – here it is:
Orange & Carrot Cream Smoothie with Coconut Milk Kefir
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1/2 cup coconut milk kefir
1 orange, peeled
1 carrot, peeled
1 tbsp Omega Fish Oil
1 tbsp chia seeds
Optional – add cinnamon, honey (coal), a date or fig for sweetener. Personally, I use stevia to sweeten my smoothies. Plus I love to add turmeric and bee pollen to combat the histamine reactions and soothe the body.
To Make
Place all the ingredients into a blender until smooth.
