Spring Detox : 3 Reasons We Must Detox!

detox

Wild Rose College of Natural Healing defines detoxing as “clear[ing] out toxins and debris in your body that may be stopping you from having vitality.”

Over the past few decades the word “detox” has become very popular, but the principles of letting the digestive system rest in order to allow the body’s natural cleansing processes to function better have been around for centuries. Our bodies are fine-tuned machines. When we are eating the right foods, exercising, and feeling calm, our bodies are normally in harmonious balance and running optimally.

Many people are aware of the benefits of detoxing and are curious about it, but feel nervous, overwhelmed, or do not know where to start. It has been proven that detoxing 4 times a year will improve your health, immune system and digestion. The body is constantly filtering toxins and sometimes needs some extra support. A healthy, safe, whole foods and gentle detox will do this for you.

The reason we detox during the spring are the following:

1. Weight Loss: One of the best ways to lose weight is to do a detox. Studies show toxins are stored in the cells, which means the more fat cells we have, the more toxins we have hampering weight loss goals.

2. Improve Digestion: Toxin build up can lead to hampered digestion, acid reflux, loose stools, constipation and bloating. By detoxing your body and colon, which often gets overwhelmed with toxins, digestion will improve.

3. Detoxing all Pathways for a healthy immune system: Your body must have clear detoxification pathways in order for your body to eliminate waste theough the colon, kidneys, lymphatic system, lungs, liver and especially your skin (your third kidney), because we release and filter toxins through the skin similar to the kidneys.

If one of these detoxifcation pathways are not working, then you will experience rashes, fatigue, bloating and many people cannot fight off the common cold or sinus infection.
