During this hot weather, it is not uncommon to get dehydrated. Many of my clients are having leg cramps, or having a tough time losing weight and feeing really hungry. WHY? Often we have these issues simply because we are not hydrated.
To ensure proper hydration, you can make a Natural Gatorade.
Ingredients
20 ounces of water
1/8 teaspoon sea salt
juice from one lemon or grapefruit
1 teaspoon of honey
Now if you are feeling not only dehydrated but a lack of minerals and having headaches, leg cramps and an overall feeling of blah and exhaustion, then make a Vitamin Water! Not only can you flush away toxicity, but you can add vital nutrients & minerals to your water with the following combinations: Ingredients
- 1/2 gallon water
- 1 grapefruit, sliced (can substitute with one lemon)
- 1 large cucumber, sliced
- 10-20 peppermint leaves
- Ice – as much as you like
Directions Rinse grapefruit, cucumber and peppermint leaves. Slice the cucumber and grapefruit. Then combine all ingredients in a half gallon pitcher. Allow ingredients to sit as long as possible for maximum benefits. Now let’s keep it simple because if you want to make any combination for optimal detox & weight loss, you can! Simply Take a large pitcher, or other water safe container, and fill with fresh water.
Add: – Fresh fruits (cut the fruit into paper-thin slices or small chunks) – Mint for extra natural flavoring – Stevia or pure raw honey to add sweetness
Refrigerate your Vitamin Water for 4-6 hours and serve over ice. Whenever I have been working out and sweating during this hot summer weather, it is vital for me to drink the right drink. I juice daily but there is not one day where I do not make Vitamin Waters to replenish lost minerals. You can add a dash of sea salt to your Mineral Water for an extra dose of minerals. Remember, we need the proper minerals for out thyroid and metabolism to function.
