Food Combining and Smoothies

So many people have been emailing me about food combining and smoothies. Often we have a smoothie and feel bloated, why? The whole kitchen sink was in the smoothie. The best way to avoid bloating is to properly food combine your smoothie.

Fruits are best eaten alone.

Sour or acidic fruits such as blueberries, kiwi, grapefruit can be combined with proteins/fats such as coconut kefir, coconut meat, avocado, protein powder like hemp and nuts/seeds.

Here is a great chart created by Fully Raw (I love this visual and how clear it is to understand proper food combining).

Here is a properly food combined smoothie to make today:

1 1/2 cups dairy free milk
1 cup spinach
1 kiwi
2 tbsp. chia seeds
3 tbsp. hemp protein powder
stevia to taste
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
Blend and consume.
