Low Sugar Smoothie for Energy

When I was diagnosed with candida and adrenal fatigue, I was told to eat a candida diet. I followed the diet plan that Donna Gates, one of my teachers from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, created from the Body Ecology Diet.

At first I felt deprived, but then realized there were so many foods that I could eat. I also found smoothies to be easy to digest since I was allergic to eggs. Eggs are a fabulous source of protein but not for me. I did not want to inflame my intestinal tract anymore by eating a food I was intolerant to so began my journey with smoothies and juicing.

Fruits that are low in glycemic index are the following: green apples, grapefruit and berries. If you cannot tolerate avocado and you find it gives you brain fog after consuming, then omit from the recipe and add a 1/4 cup of coconut milk to give the smoothie a creamy taste and use 3/4 cup green tea.

Here is a great smoothie for anyone needing a low sugar smoothie. I also add Green Tea, for a boost of antioxidants and Camu Camu, which a natural vitamin c that boosts the adrenals. Camu Camu can be bought at amazon.com, vitacost.com, Whole Foods or your local natural food store.

This smoothie is awesome.
